Sarah Addison Allen

Anyone who I have talked to lately about books knows this about me...I really like the author, Sarah Addison Allen.  All of her books involve some element of magic & fantasy that is fun to read.  She has written four books so far: Garden Spells (2007) The Sugar Queen (2008) The Girl Who Chased the Moon (2010) and The Peach Keeper (2011).  The Girl Who Chased the Moon is my favorite, followed closely by Garden Spells.  The Girl Who Chased the Moon is the story of a girl who loses her mother and goes to live with her grandfather in the small town where her Mom grew up.  She unexpectedly gets caught up in the local legends.  The story is magical and exciting.  Garden Spells is the story of two sisters that come from a magically gifted family (each has a unique gift).  One can create emotions and behaviors through the food she cooks.  I liked that the author included some of the herbs, plants and flowers and what their supposed effect is at the end of the book.  A great read...
